A new update for the popular Vina application in the iPhone 5 has been released and it includes a wide array of new features and functionality that will delight users of this popular service. Of all of the new additions perhaps the most popular will be the inclusion of categories such as Pets and Cars where user can post their short video clips. This will aid other users in finding content that is relevant to them. Vine is developed by the Twitter social networking site and it is clear to see that some elements of this update borrow features included on the micro blogging site. Users will now have the facility to Revine clips, similar to Retweeting on Twitter and there is also a brand new On The Rise section which showcases the most popular posts similar to the Trends facility on Twitter.

The social aspects of the iPhone 5 Vine application may have improved but there have also been a number of improvements introduced to the camera side of the app. The interface has been totally redesigned and now includes a host of shooting modes as well as a new Grid function that will help consumers to align their videos correctly. One interesting inclusion is the new Ghost mode which creates a really interesting effect by placing the previous image over the top of the current live view. Privacy is a primary concern for many users of social networking applications such as Vine and the introduction of the new Private Account mode will be welcomed. When this option is selected a users posts can only be viewed by followers and not the entire Vine community.

Vina has proven to be a runaway success since its release and the new iOS update for devices like the iPhone 5 boasts a host of features that should ensure that the app remains the number one service of its kind. Vine is also available on Android handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S3
