Brand Loyalty Ensures That The iPhone 5S And iPhone 6 Will Boost Apple’s Market Share

In September we should see the new iPhone 5S arrive from Apple along with the latest iOS 7 software and a host of new features. It is expected that this will be followed in 2014 by another new device in the shape of the iPhone 6. An American company have now revealed that they expect these two new models to help iOS dominate the smartphone market by the end of 2015.Image may be NSFW.

The company who have made these predictions are the Yankee Group and they are based on a recent survey that the group have conducted of 16000 smartphone users in the US. In this survey 91 per cent of consumers who currently run an iOS powered device stated that they would be upgrading to either the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6 when the models are released. Of the total number of iOS users a tiny six per cent stated that they would be switching over to an Android smartphone. Things were very different however when it came to Android users. Of those surveyed 74 per cent said that they would be sticking with the Google powered platform. Of the remainder 18 per cent said that they are likely to switch to one of the new devices from Apple. Based on these results Yankee Group have suggested that by the turn of 206 Apple could hold a 37 per cent share of the total smartphone market followed by Android who will command slightly less at 34 per cent.

It looks as though customer loyalty will prove key when it comes to growth of smartphone platform over the coming years. Speaking of their results the Yankee Group said “‘Think of the Apple and Android ecosystems as two buckets of water. New smartphone buyers- mostly upgrading feature phone owners- fall like rain into the two big buckets about equally, with a smaller number falling into Windows Phone and BlackBerry buckets. However, the Android bucket leaks badly, losing about one in five of all the owners put into it”. This September we are expecting the iPhone 5S to make an appearance complete with the new iOS7 operating system and a larger 4.2 inch Retina display than earlier models. The iPhone 6 is unlikely to arrive much before Q2 2014 and this model is set to offer a brand new design.

iOS is set to see a boost in its share of the smartphone market with the arrival of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6. The excellent brand loyalty generated by Apple products is a key factor in why they are expected to overtake Android over the coming months.
