We have seen a number of superb smartphones released in 2013 but there is no question that one of the most eagerly awaited is the iPhone 5S from Apple which has been tipped for a Q3 release. New reports have emerged however that suggest that there will be a delay in the launch of this new phone due to the fact that Apple are set to include a larger display than was originally planned on the model.Image may be NSFW.

It looks as though the new iPhone 5S may get a later launch than was originally anticipated if new reports prove to be correct. It has been suggested that Apple have halted the production process on this new model so that they can fit a larger 4.3 inch display on the phone than the original 4 inch screen which was destined for the device. This news has been broken by BrightWire who claim that the information has found its way to them via supply networks in Asia where the model is currently being manufactured. They are not the only news source who have reported on this matter as Bloomberg have also recently published a similar story. It has been stated that production could have been halted as far back as May to enable Apple to change the design of the phone to accommodate the brand new Retina display.
We have heard an increasing amount of speculation about the iPhone 5S in recent weeks including the publication of a number of images showing the chassis of the new model on the production line. These images show the aluminium body of the phone but it is not clear from these pictures whether they are set to feature the original display or the proposed new 4.3 inch screen. If the reports do prove to be correct then a delayed launch of the phone is very likely although the fact that production was halted months agos would have given the manufacturers time to redesign the handset and begin the production process again. The model is tipped to arrive with a host of new features including an improved camera and fingerprint scanning technology.
The iPhone 5S is one of the most eagerly awaited handsets of 2013 but it looks as though consumers may be facing a longer than expected wait for this new device as Apple look to include a new, larger display on the handset. This will enable the device to compete better against larger, rival devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S4.
