Apple have always enjoyed great success with their iPhone range of smartphones and this summer this success could be bigger than ever if latest reports are to be believed. A leading industry analyst has suggested that the iPhone 5S, the next flagship model from the American manufacturers is set to be introduced in a range of different screen sizes, news that will delight millions of consumers across the globe.
It looks as though Apple may be set to introduce the new iPhone 5S with three different sized screens in a bid to offer more choice and ultimately expand their share of the smartphone market. This has been suggested by a leading analyst named Brian White from Topeka Capital Markets. Speaking to investors he commented “We believe Apple is coming around to the fact that one size per iPhone release does not work for everyone and offering consumers an option has the potential to expand the company’s market share”. This new will be welcomed by consumers. Traditionally iPhones have always been released in just a single screen size. The introduction of a range of different screens will enable Apple to continue to offer a smaller, compact smartphone but also larger screened models to compete with other big screened models such as the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Mr White mentioned this possibility in a recent note to investors and he also touched on the possibility of Apple also releasing a cheaper priced iPhone. This is something that we have heard plenty of rumours about over the last few months. Many experts believe that such a move is vital to help Apple grow and continue to enjoy success in the smartphone market. Samsung currently lead the way and this is thanks to a great combination of premium handsets and lower priced phones ideal for pay as you go and cheaper contract deals. “We believe this price point is reassuring for investors that Apple wants to expand its market reach with consumers in developing countries such as China; however, the company will also manage its margin profile and brand appropriately”.said Mr White. If we do see such a model materialise it is likely to retail for between £200 and £300, considerably cheaper than the new iPhone 5S which is likely to be closer to the £600 mark.
It looks like we may be seeing an array of different iPhone’s arrive over the coming months. If the rumours are correct then the iPhone 5S will arrive sporting three different screen sizes and we may also see a new budget iPhone introduced as well.
